Novices of the English Province, Wilfrid, David and Albert, travelled to Douai Abbey in Berkshire last Wednesday to look through the provinces archive, housed in the abbey library and cared for by a professional archivist. The visit aimed at collecting images of notable figures from the modern English province for use in an online exhibition due to open in the New Year, and produced in collaboration with Cambridge University Library. All of the novices really enjoyed the opportunity to find out a little more about the history of the province, and see some of the items held in the archive – particularly the scapular of Fr Vincent McNabb, OP.
