A two-day walking pilgrimage from Berverley to York for the Dominican Family & friends to celebrate the Order’s Jubilee

June 30th – July 3rd 2016

Accompany the friars’ noviciate as they retrace the steps of medieval friars from their former priory at Beverley to the beautiful city of York.

Thursday June 30th

4.30pm Arrivals at Beverley Youth Hostel (please notify us in advance if parking is required)
6pm Supper
7.30pm Public lecture in the Minster – Fr Aidan Nichols OP
9pm Anglican Compline in the Minster to finish with Salve and O Lumen

 

Friday July 1st

8am Morning prayer with blessing in the Minster from Rev Jeremy Fletcher
8.30am Departure for full route walkers (12 miles) route via Goodmanham
ca. noon Departure by support cars to Goodmanham for half  route walkers
1pm Arrival in Market Weighton for lunch in St Mary’s Catholic
Parish Hall.
2pm     Departure from Market Weighton
5pm Mass & Evening Prayer at Everingham Hall chapel.
8pm Supper at Beverley Youth Hostel followed by visit for those who wish to the The White Horse on Hengate

Saturday July 2nd

8am Mass at RC St John of Beverley church
8.45 am Departure in cars to Everingham to resume full-route walk
ca.1pm Departure in cars for half-route walkers
1.30pm Lunch and Midday Office at the Thicket Carmelite convent
2.30pm Departure from the Thicket
6pm Arrival York YHA
7.30pm  ‘The Dominican Rosary’ – a talk by Fr Richard Ounsworth OP with recitation of the rosary & benediction at St Wilfrid’s RC  church, York
8.30pm onwards Free time


Sunday July 3rd

10.30am Parish Mass at St Wilfrid’s, York
12 noon Departures
