Fr. Jean Jacques Pérennès, former Director of the Order’s Centre for Islamic Studies in Cairo, spoke yesterday to the community about the Centre’s mission, showing and commenting on a recent film about the Friars there. With a first-class library valued by Moslem scholars, it is a precious point of contact and mutual respect, offering a way beyond fundamentalism.
