The novices attended a session with the Blackfriars Study group on the 16th of November. The group was discussing Ralph Martin’s article entitled:

The Post-Christendom Sacramental Crisis: The Wisdom of Thomas Aquinas.

The paper was introduced by Professor John Rist, who offered a fair and thorough analysis, after which an open discussion took place and the attendees shared their ideas and experiences. The discussion was very engaging with people approaching the topic from different academic and life backgrounds; however the many views seemed to be centred on God and the building of a sincere relationship with him.

Delicious refreshments were provided before and after the event, alongside an opportunity for informal discussions after the session, where people could continue to discuss the topic in pairs and smaller groups. The novices highly recommend the sessions for all able to attend.
