Entrance Chant

Requiem aeternam – please click on this pdf and rotate anticlockwise: Requiem

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. A hymn befits You in Sion, O Lord, and let offering be given to You in Jerusalem. Hear my prayer: all flesh will come to You.

Offertory Hymn

1 Our God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home:

2 Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
sufficient is Thine arm alone,
and our defence is sure.

3 Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting Thou art God,
to endless years the same.

4 A thousand ages in Thy sight
are like an evening gone;
short as the watch that ends the night
before the rising sun.

5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
bears all its sons away;
they fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the op’ning day.

6 Our God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come:
O be our guard while troubles last,
and our eternal home.

Let perpetual light shine upon them, with Your Saints for ever, for your are merciful.

Communion Hymn

1 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Come unto me and rest;
Lay down, O weary one, lay down
Thy head upon my breast.”
I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary, worn, and sad;
I found in him a resting place,
And He has made me glad.

2 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
Stoop down, and drink, and live.”
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in him.

3 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“I am this dark world’s Light;
Look unto me, thy morn shall rise,
And all your day be bright.”
I looked to Jesus, and I found
In him my Star, my Sun;
And in that light of life I’ll walk
Till trav’ling days are done.

Final Hymn

1 Abide with me: fast falls the eventide;
the darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

2 Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away.
Change and decay in all around I see.
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

3 I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who like Thyself my guide and strength can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me.

4 I fear no foe with thee at hand to bless,
ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

5 Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes.
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks and earth’s vain shadows flee;
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!
