The Advent Fair will take place once again this year, to raise funds for the The Jean Grove Trust Blackfriars Ethiopia Project. It will take place on SUNDAY 10 DECEMBER and will start at approximately noon, which is to say immediately after 11 am Mass. This year it will once again be in the Library. There will be a cake stall as usual, and we are counting on the generosity of the congregation in the shape of donation of your baked, bottled and pickled goods to stock this stall. Apart from donations to the cake stall, which should be brought in on the day, please just bring yourselves. We will serve mulled apple and homemade mince pies.

The Dominican Sisters are having a Women’s Day of Recollection on Saturday 16 December 2023, 10am-4pm. This will include Mass, talks, lunch, Adoration, & Vespers. Donation: £10. To book, please contact Sr Angela: <angelaleydon@btinternet.com>.

Need a rest? The Dominican sisters have a fully equipped hermitage in their garden for individual day and residential guests. For more information or booking, please contact Sr Ann <acs92@cam.ac.uk>.

The Holy Preaching is back on Wednesday 13 December at 7.30pm at the convent. This month’s talk will be “Swords Into Ploughshares: The Blessedness of Peace-Making. All welcome.

We invite members of the Blackfriars congregations to join us on Gaudete Sunday, 17 December, at 7pm for Advent Vespers, followed by mulled wine, stollen, and fireworks! The evening finishes with Compline.
