Home > News > Joy as Novices attend the final profession of Sr Mary Catherine OP

The Novices were very privileged to attend the final profession of Sr Mary Catherine O.P in St. John’s Cathedral Portsmouth. Sr Mary Catherine, who hails from the USA, is a member of Dominican Sisters of St Joseph, in the New Forest. At the Mass, celebrated by Bishop Philip Egan, Sr Mary Catherine vowed poverty, chastity and obedience until death and then received a wedding ring as the sign of her total commitment to Christ.
She was joined by her Sisters and Brothers in the Dominican family, as well as her family and friends. After the Mass everyone enjoyed chatting over tea and cake. We continue to pray for Sr Mary Catherine and thank God for the generous witness she has shown in giving her life to him.

Sr Mary Catherine makes her vows to Sr. Julie, Prioress of the community.
