The 6th Annual Conference of The Friends of Sophia, Heavenly Harmony, Earthly Symphony, on sacred music, will be held at Fisher House University Catholic Chaplaincy, Cambridge on Saturday 8th July. Speakers include Prof Sam Barrett, Cherry Pauls and Fr Dominic White and there will live and recorded music, as well as an evening recital.

The Friends of Sophia is a Christian-centred and outward looking collaborative project of people united by a common search for Sophia, Wisdom. Our conferences are a unique blend of academic conference, arts event and retreat, so Music of the Spheres will include live music and an evening recital, as well as a guided meditation. Friends of Sophia is jointly hosted by the English Province of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) and the InSpiRe Centre of St. Mary’s University, Twickenham.

Full details, timetable and tickets for the conference are available on the flyer and via the Friends of Sophia website: https://www.friendsofsophia.com/events/conference2023/ Special concession for students: only £20!

There will be “audience participation” – we are looking for singers for some of the short choral pieces on the day. If you sing and read music (whether professionally or at a completely amateur level), please can you let us know?  There will be plenty of time for rehearsals and we will send you the music in advance. Thank you!
